Marguerite Donahue Obituary

Marguerite Donahue, 95, of Scranton, died Monday at St. Mary's Villa, where she was a guest the last four years. She was the widow of Jerome Donahue, who passed away in 2002.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Durkin Lally, she was a graduate of St. Ann's High School and a member of St. Ann's Basilica, the St. Ann's Society and also the Quilting Club. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Bell Telephone and the Globe Store.

Surviving are her three children, Marguerite Famularo and husband, Dominick, Carbondale; Joan O'Malley and husband, Robert, Moscow; and Tom Donahue and wife, Kristine, Naperville Ill.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, with a fourth due in February.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Donahue; brother, John Francis Lally; and sister, Mary Burns.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Mary's Villa for their outstanding care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Basilica. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Ann's Basilica or St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home Activities Department.
