Harriet Pierce Obituary

Harriet Jane (Arnold) Pierce, of Arnolda, Charles-town, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2008, at the South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late John "Jack" Exton Pierce.
Jane was born in Hartford on April 23, 1935, the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Harriet (Siemens) Arnold.
Jack and Jane lived in Bucks County Pennsylvania their entire married life together. In 2004, she retired to Charlestown, where her parents lived and enjoyed an active life.
Jane graduated from Columbia University and was an accomplished pianist and piano teacher and lover of all music. She wrote poems, painted and invested time in the lives of young students and loved to entertain. She was very active in her community and church. She was loved by many.
Jane is survived by her three children, Halliday Harriet Pierce King, Amy Arnold Pierce Struble and Eleanor Siemens Pierce Sullivan. She also leaves her brother, Thomas L. Arnold II of Charlestown; and four grandchildren.
A service will be held at the Shannock Baptist Church in Charlestown on Wednesday, July 16, at 6:30 p.m. Music and memories will be shared with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to send donations to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006, in the loving memory of Harriet Jane (Arnold) Pierce.
Jane will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
