Ralph P. Perri Sr.

Ralph P. "Chick" Perri Sr. of 55 Ward Ave., Westerly, passed away at The Westerly Hospital Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at age 94. He was in the 70th year of marriage to his beloved wife Filomena (Parise) Perri.
Born in Acri province of Cosenza, Italy, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Domenica (Gencarella) Perri.
Mr. Perri was employed for more then 40 years with the Bradford Dyeing Association as a dyer, retiring in 1977. A communicant of The Church of the Immaculate Conception, "Chick" was also a long time member of the Calabrese Society and had a passion for gardening. In his younger days, he was a stand out pitcher in local semi pro baseball leagues.
In addition to his wife he leaves one son, Ralph P. Perri Jr. of Westerly as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and James Perri and seven sisters, Lucy Morrone, Frances Murano, Angeline Scaglione, Rose Toscano, Mary Capalbo, Bomina Fuscaldo and Mary Ann Urso.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, 111 High St., Westerly, Thursday at noon. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to The Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund, 111 High St., Westerly, RI 02891 in Ralph's memory.
