Kenneth Maine Obituary

Kenneth J. Maine, 92, formerly of Westerly, died Monday morning, Sept. 15, 2008, in Port Orange, Fla.
Born in Richmond, on Sept. 19, 1915, he was the son of the late N. Franklin and Alice (James) Maine.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener, golfer and a member of the Masonic Temple-Charity Lodge. He worked on the first Nautilus submarine and was an enthusiastic player in cribbage tournaments. He was a member and the official photographer of the Washington County Cribbage League.
He is survived by a sister, Barbara Maine of North Stonington; two daughters, Joan Maine-Riggio of Port Orange, and Diane Joslin of North Stonington; one son, Paul J. Maine of Nevada, Texas; two grandsons, Timothy Girard of Port Orange and John Girard of Charlotte, N.C.; and one granddaughter, Beth Smith of Norwich; two great-granddaughters, Kristen Girard of Orlando, Fla., and Abigail Smith of Norwich.
He was predeceased by his wife, Roberta (Crowell) Maine, a son, Stanley Maine and a grandson, Michael Girard.
Burial will be private.
