Elaine W. (Wood) Price

Elaine W. (Wood) Price, 81, of Kugler Lane, Bradford, formerly of Narragansett, died peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Robert A. Price Sr.; sadly he predeceased her on Jan. 3, 2000.
Born in Islington, Mass., on Nov. 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Sarah Hildred Isabella (Follett) Wood.
Mrs. Price was a graduate of the Pawtucket Memorial Hospital School of Nursing class of 1947 and had been a Cadet Nurse during World War II.
Elaine was a Registered Nurse at the Scallop Shell Nursing Home for over 20 years, and she had worked at the former Colchester Convalescent Home in Colchester, Conn.
Mrs. Price was a former Cub Scout leader, an active church member and was an accomplished sailor and swimmer.
Elaine will be sadly missed by her loving children, Dawn Elizabeth Carroll of Westerly, Robert A. Price Jr. of Cary, N.C., David W. Price of Richmond, and Douglas W. Price of Johnstown, Pa. She also leaves her sisters, Janice Wood-Thomas of Cumberland, and Meredith Allison of Annapolis, Md. She was the devoted grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of three.
She was predeceased by a brother, William Wood.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Pilgrim's Baptist Church, 27 Chase Hill Road, Ashaway. Calling hours will be held today from 5 to 8 p.m. in the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, Main Street, Hope Valley.
