David Roy Obituary
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late William A. and Ruth (Viens) Roy.
David had been employed as a quality control supervisor at Darlington Fabrics, retiring in 1995.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, and an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan. He loved to watch PGA golf and read. He enjoyed working in his yard and sitting in his chair under the big maple tree.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Bethany A. Roy of Westerly; a stepson, the Rev. Dean Perri of Bristol, R.I.; a stepdaughter, Shannon Algier of Westerly; two sisters, Jane Turner of Derby, Conn., and Eleanor Fairman of South Yarmouth, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service to be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment in River Bend Cemetery will be private.

Mrs. Roy, Bethany, Dean and Shannon,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Roy was such a kind person. I'll always remember sitting with him under the maple tree eating peanuts when I was a child! My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
