Arthur Buck Obituary

Arthur L. Buck, 83, of Stonington, beloved husband of 61 years to Miriam (Pollard) Buck, passed away on Friday, Nov. 30, 2007 at The Westerly Hospital.
Born in Stonington, he was the son of the late William and Edith (Brown) Buck. He was retired from Electric Boat after many years of service. Arthur was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was involved in the invasion of Normandy.
Arthur enjoyed carpentry, gardening, and baseball. His greatest enjoyment came from making furniture for his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he leaves three children, Sharon Buck of New London, Beverly Maynard and her husband Thomas, of Griswold and Jackie Latham and her husband Mark, of Noank; two brothers, George Buck and his wife Virginia, of Westerly, and Roland Buck of Ala.; three sisters, Lillian Berube of Mystic, Charlotte "Tillie" Pillmear of Westerly and Donna Church and her husband Teddy, of Pawcatuck; eight grandchildren, Michelle Hedman and her husband John, Thomas Maynard, Jeffrey Maynard and his wife Tami, Jennifer, Sarah, Benjamin, Aubrey and Tyler Latham; eight great-grandchildren, Kayla and Dayna Hedman, Nicholas, Rhianna, Megan and Monique Maynard, and Kyrsta and Brendan Brehant.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles, Richard, Kenneth and Dennis, and a sister, Sandra Choquette.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a service at noon at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic. Burial will follow at Stonington Cemetery with full military honors.
