John Pimer Obituary

John H. Pimer, 64, better known as "Jack," died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on March 2, 1943, in Providence, the son of the late George T. and Cordelia (Raymond) Pimer.
He resided most of his life in Charlestown, and was a member of the Downey Weaver American Legion Post in Charlestown.
His career was diverse and included auto body work, commercial rod and reel fishing and working for many years as a mate on charter fishing boats.
Jack was an avid sportsman and loved fishing and hunting.
He was a talented entertainer and will best be remembered for his honesty, his music, his songs, his "true" stories, his artwork and his ability to make you laugh.
Jack will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted friend and companion, Virginia Buoranno of Hopkinton; his sister, Carol McKenna of Seminole, Fla.; his daughter, Ann Hackney; his two sons, John H. Pimer Jr. and Joseph Pimer, both of Charlestown; and his grandchildren, Amanda and Tyler Hackney and Emma Pimer.
He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Taylor Dorr; and his daughter, Jane Pimer.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, Main Street, Hope Valley.
There will be a gathering of family and friends to remember Jack at the Downey Weaver Post in Charlestown on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at 7 p.m.

Jack was a REAL person who always made us laugh. His singing and guitar playing would always put a smile on your face. He touched our hearts in many ways and will always remain in our hearts forever. He will be missed by many but he is now at peace. Our sympathy and prayers to his family, Buffy and all those who had the pleasure of knowing such a unique individual.
