Never got to see you, David. I loved the first two Metal Church albums and you had it right on when you told Kurdt that "Masterpiece" was too mellow. You were true metal and knew what the Metal Church fans wanted. There will never be another one like you. You and Dime were huge losses for me, but huge gains for all of the metal-heads above. RIP, Brother.

R.I.P. David Wayne.
Once again one of our heroes in the world of metal has passed away much to early.
Former METAL CHURCH front man David Wayne was a big influence on Destiny’s previous singer Zenny Gram and METAL CHURCH was together with Savatage the biggest and most important influences for Destiny in the eighties. Even now twenty years later it’s hard to come up with a better debut than the first Metal Church album. Rest in Peace Dave, you meant a lot to the world of heavy metal and will not be forgotten.

I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to know David Wayne Carnell. I met David Wayne Carnell back in the 80's on the Sunset Strip after he had left Metal Church and was preparing his next project: Reverend. David and I instantly had a mutual bond and discussed our work in Metal and departure from our respective bands. I vivdly remembered David for decades as a very down to earth and likeable person, who was on the same page with me. There was a great mutual respect. I always hoped to meet him or run into him again since he was a true metal brother. The impact of our meeting has never been dulled in my memory. Plain and simple, he was cool people. We have lost an innovator, a metal vocal legend and a unique personality who would tell it like it is straight from the heart. I have great respect for David and his work and have not and will not ever forget his great character. Ronny Munroe who I just did a show together with in Mexico, were discussing David Wayne this weekend, his contribution to metal and how he left an indellible mark in both of our lives. I liked him very much as a person and as a singer. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. I will always admire and respect David Wayne and his work stands forever \m/><\m/ Nt

David Wayne Carnell R.I.P. I had the pleasure to meet David recently when we did an interview with him for the Metal Church documentary. I guess we have the last interview with him. As I said to David that day, our goal is to make this documentary film to show people how great Metal Church was and give you and the band the notoriety you deserve! You will be missed! You were one of the best singers metal music will ever have! You were one of a kind!

I saw David Wanye with Metal Church along with Cro-Mags and Anthrax in 1980s when they tour for the dark album, the place was jumping up and down to hear the band. Daivd Wayne Carnell remain one of the only true metal vocalists among Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford,Geoff Tate.

As a fan of David's music with Metal Church, Reverend and Wayne, I'd like to send my deepest condolences to the family and friends of this amazing singer.
You will be sorely missed, David, but I'm sure you're doing one hell of a jam in the heavens with the other fallen Metal brothers.
Ciao David.
