Tom Mosich Obituary

Tom Mosich Tom Mosich lived life to the fullest. His passions were his family, his faith, and his friends, (followed closely by fishing, golf, boating, running, tennis, bicycling, reading and basketball). He died peacefully Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at his home. Tom was deeply devoted to his wife, and best friend, Sue Mosich. His three children, Annie, Tommy, and Emily, were the greatest joy of his life. Tom's character was rooted in his Christian faith, in the love he received from his parents, and in the example of their love to each other. He loved God with all his heart, and every day learned how that love enriched all of life. In addition to his wife and children, Tom is survived by his mother, Barbara (Wink) Mosich-Wienker, brothers John (Dori) and Doug (Teresa) Mosich, uncle Nick (Ilene) Mosich, and aunts Christie (Rich) Schau, and Yvonne Mosich, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and close family friend Randy Eaton. Tom was predeceased by his father, Harvey Mosich, in 1982. Along with his family, Tom was blessed by many friends-the best a person could have. Tom worked in Private Banking at Key Bank. He volunteered countless hours to the American Cancer Society's Relay-for-Life, receiving the St. George Medal in 2004 for his volunteer service. Tom also coached soccer at the YMCA, and participated on charitable boards and in community events. The Mosich family wishes to thank Dr. Frank Senecal, Dr. Gordon Klatt, Dr. Tom Plumley, Dr. Tom Baker, Julie and Iretta, and the oncology nurses at the Physicians Medical Center for their excellent care and friendship. The family also thanks Tom's entrusted colleagues and friends at Key Bank and The American Cancer Society for their dedicated service and care. A celebration of Tom's life will be held Tuesday, November 1, 10:00am, at University Place Presbyterian Church, 8101 27th Street West, University Place, Washington 98466, 253-564-2522. Remembrances may be sent to the American Cancer Society – The Gordon Klatt Relay for Life Research Endowment, 1551 Broadway, Suite 200, Tacoma, WA 98402, or NEXT Church, 5929 Westgate Blvd. North, Tacoma 98406 (761-8900).

Tom was my first cousin, a man who always knew how to make others smile. His sense of humor and gracious attitude always were fun to be around, and somewhat contagious. I'll miss him dearly, as I know everyone else will too. My memories of Tom and the good times I spent with him will never be forgotten. It just won't be the same in the Pacific Northwest without him, but I know he's looking down on us now, watching over us all. Miss all you MO's! My thoughts and prayers are with you all. - COUSIN ADO

To Tom's family:

I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Tom when he became one of the first American Cancer Society stakeholders. His contributions to our Council's deliberations and decisions about funding cancer research were significant. Overall, Tom's service to the American Cancer Society was inspiring, and I am very saddened by his loss.

Sue, Annie, Tommy, and Emily,

When we think of Tom we are inspired by the long hard battle he has fought for so many years...we remember the first diagnosis when Brian and Tommy were in preschool. He was always such an inspiration! We wish you all Christ's peace. Fondly, The Benedettis

To Tom's Family and Friends -

I only met Tom a handful of times. I can't say I knew him personally, though it would make me very proud to be able to do so. I'd like to tell you that he has inspired me through just the words his friends use to describe him. From them I know of his courage, his devotion to his family and friends, his indomitable will to live and fight this disease and the kindness with which he treated everyone. Sometimes great men walk among us and we are all the better for it. Tom's life is a victory, and it shall be remembered by all who knew him, and some that didn't.

At the risk of going on too long, I heard a song by Bruce Springsteen over the weekend that I immediately equated with Tom. The chorus repeats over and over through the song and builds as if sung by a choir:

"May your strength give us strength.

May your faith give us faith.

May your hope give us hope.

May your love give us love."

Thank you, Tom.

Dear Sue,

Years have passed so quickly, and yet the memories of all of our times together at Western remain bright. Tom has always been such a man of intergrity and honor. He was deeply loved by all of us. Chris (my husband) and I are so sorry that this sorrow has touched your lives, but I believe there is no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. We will be praying for you.

Love,

Judi

Dear Sue,

My heart aches for you and your children. Tom was a good man who will be missed by many, but none more than the four of you. A great love brings great pain at departure. I am so sorry you have to face this now. You will ever be in my prayers.

With love and caring,

Laurie
