How quickly six years go by but we haven't forgotten you. I make it a point to tell everyone I know about you. How special you were and how funny you could be. People are impressed. You went through so much but you were still nice. I think of you often and miss you a lot. Steve

Hi All,

I thought about Mona at length today. I posted a blog entry about her.

For those of you who knew Mona in-person, thank you for supporting her passion for life. Even though I interacted with her online via a 3d world, she touched my life tremendously.

Mona is an on-going inspiration for me.

Thanks,

Mona, we bought a dumb dog today from the pound and I thought of you. His name is Shorty and he only has one earlobe. It's kind of funny looking, but then I started thinking about how all of us have the equivalent of going through life with only one ear lobe and how we can mostly hide it. You didn't do that, Sali-Bono. You couldn't and you wouldn't. I miss you Mona. I thought I saw the Northern Lights a few months ago on my way to Vermillion on the Interstate and I started bawling thinking about the world without you in it. I'll see you on the other side, you know.

Jennifer:

Yellow roses were always my favorite too. I'll put in a bush next spring, back by the "alley", next to the pine trees, for your Mona.

Mona worked in our office for a while as a student intern. We always enjoyed her wit and humor. She was also a very good salesperson as she would sell many many school fundraiser candybars to our office and the courthouse employees. Please know you have our deepest sympathy in her passing. She was a good person.

I met Mona online approximately 4 yrs ago. Like her, I have OI as well and I stumbled across her webpage. She responded back to me and informed me of many online "OI communities"... she was my first link to the online OI world. Through her direction, I met wonderful people who are now friends. My prayers and condolences are sent to her family and network of friends.

To Mona's Family & Freinds,

Mona was my best friend for 9 wonderful years. I am so sorry and grieve with all of you at her passing. Mona was a unique individual who taught me about computers, strenght of the human spirit and compassion. Friendship so valuable it's impossible to put into words...

Mona wanted to much to come here to Florida and visit me. She knew I wouldn't ever go back to Minnesota. We had the trip planned for this spring. Now I know she is here with me, riding on the back of my motorcycle with me. Letting me know she's not really gone and a spirit as strong as hers will last forever.

God Bless her Family in this time of both grief for her passing and Joy at her freedom.

While I am extremely sorry to hear of Mona’s death, I am very pleased to learn that she lived into her 30’s. In the early 1980’s, I was told that Mona would probably not live to see high school and today I read that she was 32 years of age.

I have a warm Halloween memory of Mona cruising down the sidewalk with her wheel chair disguised as an Army tank leading the neighborhood kids door to door in search of candy. She always had a wonderful life affirming spirit which gave those around her joy. Tina and I will remember her fondly and our prayers are with your entire family.

Love, Ben and Tina Wilson

To the friends and family of Mona:

I was very sorry to learn of Mona's passing today. She was always a very strong willed person who said exactly what was on her mind with passion, strength, and honesty from her point of view.

I admired her courage and determination to overcome many obstacles and do her best to live a full life.

I learned a great deal about computer games from her and the fun that you can have corresponding with new friends via email.

I met Ramona in an online community

she and I were beta testing.

One of the greatest aspects of this was we could do alot of things together that couldn't be done in normal life and had lots of fun.

She was always great fun to be around even though I knew she was in ailing condition.

She was a great friend, and I came to know about her situation thru close conversations.

There are a number of other friends from this online world who came to know her and are hit very hard by this.

We will all miss her very much, and our community will forever be lesser one spark of life.

The Community of "There" sends their condolences to the family.

I want to personally thank Mary for contacting me about my friend.

Goodbye Mona,

we've been friends for 10 years now, and I'll miss hearing your laugh. Amazing how a debate about whether or not tea tastes like dishwater, can turn into a lasting friendship. Peace be with you. Alan
