Elaine Wahlin

Wahlin, Elaine Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Nurse, Aunt, Sister, Friend Elaine (Tollefson) Wahlin was born October 2, 1926. She passed away gracefully Thursday afternoon, June 12, at the age of 81. Elaine is survived by husband, Irwin Maynard Wahlin; and four children, Mark I. Wahlin (Laurie), Joel K. Wahlin (Leslie), Cleon W. Wahlin (Cheryl) and Martha (Wahlin) Nodorft (Jeff). Elaine will also be missed by 14 grandchildren, Ryan Wahlin, Meghan Wahlin, Brittany Wahlin, Kelsie Wahlin, Jordan Wahlin, Tyler Wahlin, Brock Wahlin, Piper Wahlin, Leah Wahlin, Karla Wahlin, Timothy Nodorft, Garrett Nodorft, Gregory Nodorft and Teagan Nodorft. Elaine is also survived by her brothers, Wallace (Darlene) Tollefson, Chester (Gladys) Tollefson, Lloyd (Pat) Tollefson, Glenn (Marion) Tollefson; sister, Marion (Tollefson) Pomplum (Erwin). Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Martha (Syversrud) Tollefson; her dear father, Theodore Tollefson; brothers, Kenneth Tollefson, Marvin Tollefson and Roger Tollefson; sister, Pearl Lorraine (Tollefson) Arnold. Also, sister-in-law, June Tollefson and niece, Luanne (Dietz) Richards; nephews, Loring Tollefson, Dwight Tollefson and Merlin Tollefson. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends. Elaine was trained as a nurse in the 1940's. She enjoyed nursing immensely working in labor and delivery, surgery and public health. Elaine married Irwin Wahlin in 1953 and they shared a beautiful life together for almost 55 years. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She loved flowers, music, poetry, corresponding with many friends and relatives, and entertaining. But, most of all, Elaine enjoyed a rich spiritual life. Special thanks to many care providers throughout her 18 year battle with cancer.
