Pat was my favorite geneologist.. His grand mother was evidently the wife of Victor McCarty Alias James Hogan of the .McCarty boys of Belevue NE. Google them for an interesting history on how the McCarty s became the unofficial law when there was no law. Vick is buried
In Crystal lake cemetery in Minneapolis after a shoot out with st Paul deputies in 1919.

I had not talked with Patrick in about two years but at this time of year I have always thought of Pat and Dorothy since their Christmas card always came before anyone else and my family always expected it. So today I decided to get in touch and googled his name and address and learned of his death. My grandmother was Mabel Chandler Freundschuh who lived in Pensacola, Fl (first cousins to Jim and Pat) and my mother was Mary Freundschuh Ferrell. They lived outside of Tallahassee, Fl. Patrick and Jimmy and wives would drive south and visit with us over the years.......it was really a treat to be around my mother’s family. I surprised my parents for their 50th anniversary in April of 1991 and flew the three of us up to Minneapolis (my first trip) for a two day visit. We stayed with Jimmy and Mugs’ and visited Pat and Dorothy. Great Trip!!! One exciting experience was going up into the attic of Aunt Maggie’s home and Jimmy showing me everything. I would love to talk with anyone regarding my family and my contact info. is John Ferrell 828-622-9604 or email is [email protected]

I was so sorry to hear of Patrick's death. Patrick was an invaluable resource to all of us McCarty family researchers. He was a genuinely nice man and he will be greatly missed.

My siblings and I know the name "Pat Chandler" very well, though we never met him. He and our Dad, Ed Hutterer, worked together for many years at the Hiway Department - the MN Department of Transportation. Dad always spoke highly of Pat, and I remember Mom and Dad (both of whom have passed away since 2006) frequently mentioning good times spent with Pat and Dorothy Chandler. You all have our sincere sympathy in your loss, and our hope that wonderful memories are of comfort to you.

My husband, Bill and I met Pat and Dorothy when we started the Minnesota Genealogical Society library on W. 7th St. in St. Paul, MN. The two were tireless in volunteering their time to this organization. My husband, who was into video taping, sat down with Pat one afternoon and taped two hours with Pat who reminisced about his WWII experiences. Pat not only remembered events on an almost daily basis but he had all this in his head! We spent many good times with Pat and Dorothy in their apartment at 7500 York - great memories.
