Mary Margaret Poos

Mary Margaret Poos passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, with her special caretaker, Rose, at her side. April 24, 1927, Mary and her twin, Kathryn, were born to Joseph and Gussie Sheppard in Wood River, Illinois. Her twin, Kathryn , and her other two siblings, Minnie Grover and Joseph Sheppard Jr. passed before her. While working at Illinois Bell Telephone, Mary met Bud, her loving husband, celebrating 75 years of marriage before his passing. She is survived by her three children, Paula Keller (George), Pamela Galloway (Frankie), and Mark Poos (Yvonne). Grandma Mary had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Tyler (Lindsey), Tim (Tara) and her 7 great grandchildren. She will be happily reunited with her other two grandchildren, Nick Keller, and Sean Poos who sadly passed before her. Special gratitude goes to Deborah Ellen Fairless, her loving niece, who brought her much happiness throughout the years. A special thank you goes to Corinthian Assisted Living staff for endlessly providing love and support to Mary in her journey with them. A private family funeral service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, where she will be interred with her beloved husband, Bud.
