Michael C De Baca, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by members of his family on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.

Michael was born December 5th, 1929 in Albuquerque, NM to Nathaniel and Dolores C De Baca. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Colonel Leo C. De Baca and Nathaniel, Jr. He is survived by his sister, Lucy Nunn and husband, Frank; brother Dr. Fernando C De Baca and wife, Cecilia; niece Val Bustamante and husband Julian; nephew Mark C De Baca, CPA, and wife Judy of Los Angeles, CA; niece Carol Allen and husband David of Boulder, CO; nephew Rick C De Baca of Santa Fe, NM; grandnephews: Albert and Gary Simmons, Lucas Allen, Ryan and Rory McGuire and grandnieces,

Marissa C De Baca, Alyssa Bowling & Mindy Friedman as well as numerous other relatives.

Michael graduated from Lydia Patterson Institute and received a B.A. degree from UNM & an M.A. degree from the University of California. Michael served in the US Army & was a decorated Korean War veteran. He worked for the Central Intelligence Agency & retired from Los Angeles County.

He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, God loving and compassionate individual whose unselfish acts toward others earned him the respect and admiration of everyone he met.

Michael will be buried with honors at the Nat'l Veterans Cemetery, Santa Fe.
