Pamela Schneider Obituary

Schneider, Pamela

Pamela Schneider, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015. We will raise our cups today and every day for the woman who lived to raise our cups and spirits. Only Pam Schneider would have chosen April Fools' Day to leave us…so she did. Born June 17, 1954, with a "face with a view," Pam brought love, laughter, and lessons to all who knew her.

Pam is survived by the love of her life, her wife, Paula; stepdaughter, Amy; stepson Shane; and her granddaughter, Audreanna. She lives on through her beloved sister, Linda Lowe and husband, Roger; brothers: Peter and wife Beth, Terry and wife Nancy, Marc and wife Patti; nephews and nieces: Aaron (deceased), Nathan, Ryan, Annslee, Lauren, Brent, Kevin, Ishtar, and Jennifer.

Pam was a cherished mentor and leader in the marketing industry in New Mexico and in the Southwest. She began her career in 1979 at Rick Johnson & Company, and helped run that advertising agency for over 30 years. Most recently, she was Integration Director with Riester, a regional marketing powerhouse, where she managed the McDonald's account from California to Idaho.

Join us in celebrating her life and legacy on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Albuquerque Art Museum, 2000 Mountain Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, friends can contribute to the Pam Schneider Memorial Scholarship Fund at any Bank of Albuquerque location.

I just heard the news that we've lost this wonderful woman. Paula, I never met you, but feel like I know you from the loving way Pam described you. And Linda, we met once in the Starbucks near KNME where I was working. I send both of you and all the family my deepest condolences. I met Pam because I appealed to get into her class at UNM about four years ago. She lifted the cap so I could take the class because she hoped it would benefit the PBS station where I worked! Then we bonded during that class, being from the same generation with a lifetime of experiences that we often shared with one another. We continued to communicate, via postcard and email over the next several years. She truly made a difference in my life, and opened my eyes to the world of media buying and communications strategy. I think of her fondly and often.

I was saddened to hear about her passing. I only met her a few times at the cancer center when I was going with my friend Rob for chemo. She was truly a beautiful soul. My condolences to Paula and the family.

Haven't seen much of Pamela in recent years, but recall all the good memories of her when she was an active softball player and I would umpire many of her games. We developed a relationship that was unusual between a player and an umpire. She was indeed a very special lady and she will be sorely missed. May you rest in peace, my friend.

Pam is influential. One time when I visited ABQ, I was joining her for dinner with Paula and her family. I invited my mother along, mentioned we were going to a sushi restaurant. Mom said, "I don't eat sushi. Never have, never will." I told her there were other menu items. She decided to come. She sat next to Pam. Pam is a great conversationalist, so she and my mom talked about all kinds of things. As an off-hand remark, Pam said, "Hey, try this. It's really tasty." My mom did, and agreed. Now, guess who eats sushi on occasion?! Pam--she makes things happen.

Pam is inspirational, spunky, committed to the people and issues she cares about, and "wicked smaht!" as we say in Boston. She is a friend whose inspirational presence has been with me for more than 25 years, and still is with me. Pam is amazing. Seana

Pam was a shining light. I knew her from the RJC team and as a neighbor in Rio Rancho. Your warmth can still be felt. May your family find peace in that. With deepest sympathy, Janet Green
