Robert Ulrich Obituary

Robert Reece Ulrich, age 58, lost his three year battle with secondary cancer caused from two previous and successful battles with cancer. He was surrounded by loving family. Rob was born on Feb. 4, 1957, in Lancaster, Calif., to Robert P. Ulrich Jr. and Gail Stansberry. He lived in Mojave, Calif., attending grades K - 12 at Mojave Unified School, where his grandfather was superintendent. On June 28, 1975, he married the love of his life and childhood friend, Cheri Corwin. They were married 40 years and totally devoted to each other. They had two sons: Robert John Ulrich and Craig Corwin Ulrich. The family of four enjoyed many family outings in their motor home, making many trips to Mexico and around the Western States. In 1983, Rob and Cheri moved to Tehachapi, Calif., where Rob's Construction Company took off. In 1995, Rob and Cheri followed their dream of living in Alaska, where they enjoyed many happy years. Rob's construction business continued to be successful in Alaska. Rob and Cheri continued to travel at every opportunity enjoying new sites and new foods. Rob is survived by his loving wife, Cheri; two sons, Robert (Crystal) of Alaska and Dr. Craig Ulrich of Reno, Nev.; his parents, Bob and Gail Ulrich of Mojave; and his sisters, Bonnie (Mark) of Mojave and Kathleen (Larry) of Oregon. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, who adored their Uncle Rob; as well as his brother-like cousin, Harold Ulrich Jr. His special sense of humor, along with the annual Ulrich Family Christmas letter, will be greatly missed by family, many friends and clients who depended on him for all their building and repair needs. Per Rob's request there will be no services.

I hope I'm not the only one submitting memories of Rob since 2022. Yes, I think of him just about everytime I go to Settlers Bay for golf. He and I had a lot of fun even though we were not good golfers. Hope his family are doing well.

Still miss Rob, I think about him often and wonder how he and God are getting along. Everyday I play golf at Settlers I look into the woods at his ashes, waiting to see him looking for a ball. He was always be remembered and never forgotton. Stay strong Cheri.

Cheri, Sincerest condolences at Rob's passing, which, though not unexpected, still leaves a void for you, and many of us who enjoyed knowing and working with him. We shared more than a few moments with him as he worked jobs on our mechanical system and the Heart of Willow's as well. I guess we will remember him best for his confidence and enthusiasm. He really enjoyed helping people, and took pride and joy in solving problems for others. Even while struggling with his own health issues, his energy was directed to helping others. That was inspirational. We will all miss Rob, and cherish his memory with fondness and affection. Our best wishes to you and all affected family. Bill and Mary Jo Arterburn

I just heard of Rob's passing. He was a great friend to my late Dad, and to me, and made the world a better place. Dad said he was "square and on the level". The things he built are his enduring legacy - not only the fine construction, but the friendships and trust he built. I'll think of him every time I pick up a hammer or saw - and especially a level.

We have always enjoyed Rob's outgoing, honest, compassionate, upbeat personality. He spoke so fondly of his family and my heart melted everytime he talked of "his bride" Cheri you'd have thought they just got married and still in the honeymoon stages by the love and emotion he had. He spoke often of his sons and his pride of all his family. As Rob battled all his stages of cancer he kept working and laughing and showed what it was to LIVE his life and push through. I always admired him in so many ways. He will be greatly missed by many including our family. Love and prayers to you Cheri and family.

In today's world of getting told what you want to hear a man like Mr. Ulrich was a breath of fresh air. If you were able to earn his respect you knew you had something special. Here is to a beautifully rugged, honest and strong man.

I remember the feeling I had when Rob would visit Cheri at work...the vibe, the connection. Genuine, comfortable, and precious. I wanted to say something profound here but some things transcend words. You're in my prayers, Cheri. (I'm here if u ever wanna talk or get some tea...or just sit.❤)
