Israel Chavez Obituary
In Loving Memory
Israel Roque Chavez, 78, passed away at home on Dec. 20, 2014, in Foothill Ranch (Orange County), Calif. He was born in San Patricio.
Israel is survived by his wife, Patricia (Parra) and three daughters, Sarah from West Hollywood, Calif., Annette from Miami, Fla., and Angela from Rancho Margarita, Calif. He is also survived by his aunt Mrs. Eva (Chavez) Kohlrust of Alamogordo; four brothers, Felix, Arturo, Monroy and Rueben, and six sisters Lydia Rue, Maria Salas, Teresa Chavez, Dolores Carrillo, Lillian Lopez and Adelina Payne.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Benjamin, Rayner, Modesto, Charlie, Elena Klein and Esperanza Chavez.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Aristeo and Cristina Chavez; his paternal grandparents Transisto and Angelita Chavez, and maternal grandparents Jorge and Josefita Romero.
Israel made the decision to move to southern California in 1965 to pursue his career as an automotive mechanic. He was a well respected vintage car restoration enthusiast.
Patricia and Israel raised their three daughters in California to appreciate a diverse lifestyle, a good education and all the immense possibilities that California had to offer. He also loved the good year-round weather, but he never forgot his roots in San Patricio. It had a special place in his heart.
Israel maintained his movie star good looks and his elegant style through out his life and he was known as a bit of a "clothes horse." He remained humble. He was a shy man with a sly sense of humor.
Israel had an extensive music collection; some of his favorites were Elvis Presley, Linda Ronstadt, Johnny Cash, Lola Beltran and Stan Getz.
Israel fought a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He passed and left this world the way he lived - quietly and gracefully.
Celebration of Israel's life and his memorial are pending at this time. The services will take place in the spring of 2015 in New Mexico, with the location, date and time to be announced.

Que el Dios de todo consuelo, Jehov, los ayude a sobrellevar este momento difcil. Aunque la muerte parezca algo que no tiene solucin, Dios nos da una esperanza. En la Biblia en Hechos 24:51 dice que va a haber resurreccin y en Revelacin 21:4 dice que Dios eliminara la muerte para siempre. Deseo que puedan encontrar consuelo en estas palabras.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise found in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring you some comfort. Knowing that there is a future for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
