ORLANDO MARTINEZ Orlando Martinez, 64, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at his residence with his beloved family around his bedside. Orlando was born on September 23, 1958, in Alice, Texas to Jesus Martinez and Maria Luisa Garza. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and took part in many bar-b-que competitions. He worked for Coastal Home Health, Del Cielo Home Health, and owned and operated Brasas Catering Service. Orlando was a high school graduate of Alice High School with the class of 1977. He was always ready to give a helping hand to any one in need. His biggest accomplishment was his family and he loved them beyond words. His happiest moments were when he had his children around and all together. Orlando is preceded in death by his father Jesus Martinez, one daughter Melanie Melissa Martinez, maternal grandparents Gregorio and Luisa Garza, paternal grandparents Antonio and Delfina Martinez, and nephew Joshua Bebout. Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years of marriage Nelda Martinez of Alice, three sons Matthew (Alyse) Martinez of Odessa, Texas, Marc (Ruben) Martinez of Austin, Texas and Jordan Martinez of Alice, one daughter Lauren (Daniel) Jimenez of Floresville, Texas, his mother Maria Luisa Garza of Alice, his six grandchildren Carlee, Gabriel, Catalina, Mateo, Alijah, Emilia. His siblings that loved him and will miss him dearly: Antonio Martinez, Homer Martinez, Melba (Oscar) Medellin, Gregory Martinez, Loren (Mike) Villegas, Marisa (DeWitt) Bebout, Sara Basaluda, Belinda Perez, Leticia Martinez Macias and Robert Martinez. He will also be missed by his loving dog, Shadow. Family received friends and relatives at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Rosas Funeral Home. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 12 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church also on Friday, March 24, 2023. Services will conclude at the church after the funeral mass. Serving as pallbearers will be Trey Mann, Eric Martinez, JA Cadena, Noe Gonzalez, Oscar Medellin, OJ Trigo, Arnold Mendietta, Ray Green, Ruben Martinez, and Daniel Jimenez.
