D. Michael Romelhardt

Romelhardt, D. Michael 2/1/1951 - 10/1/2016 Dexter Romelhardt, D. Michael age 65 of Dexter. Died October 1, 2016. Born in Tecumseh, Michigan to William and Dorothy (VandenBosch) Romelhardt. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Kristin (nee Lewis). Beloved father of Travis, Tim (Lisa), and Tiffany. Cherished grandfather of Scarlett. He is also survived by his mother Dorothy, brother Larry (Dawn) and sister-in-law Sue Romelhardt. He was preceded in death by his father William and brother Ronald. Michael was a pipefitter retiring in 2009 after nearly 40 years of service. He was a proud member of UA Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 190 and served the Union in many capacities, including organizing the annual golf outing for many years. Michael will be missed for his generous and loving spirit to everyone he met. He was a creative and ambitious chef and loved to cook for every family get-together. His amazing meals will truly be missed. He also loved feeding and watching all the wildlife in his backyard; deer, turkey, squirrels, birds and most recently his beehives. Michael was a true blue Michigan football fan who rarely missed a game. Visitation for Michael will be on Thursday, October 6 from 4-8 pm at Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 3410 Broad St. Dexter. A Memorial service will be held Friday, October 7 at 12:00 pm at the Dexter United Methodist Church, 7643 Huron River Dr. Dexter. Memorials may be made to the Leslie Science & Nature Center, www.lesliesnc.org a place where birds of prey are rescued and rehabilitated, including Michael's beloved owls.
