Darlene Walker Obituary
Asbury Park - Darlene Marie Walker, 61 of Asbury Park, fondly known as "Doll Face" received her heavenly wings on December 30, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 11, 1956, to the late Betty Lynch of Lexington, Virginia. She later relocated to the shore area when she was ten-years-old. She attended Asbury Park public schools and graduated from Asbury Park High School.
She had a tremendous heart and was loved and adored by everyone.
Darlene was the matriarch of the family and dedicated her life to helping others. She was a mother and nanny to all. Her many passions include gardening, crafting, sewing, and being the life of the party.
She leaves to cherish and celebrate her life four loving children; Her one and only amazing son Rasaja (Tamara) Walker of Neptune; Three fabulous daughters Ifa (Khalid) Walker-Ali of Lilburn, GA., Geneeja (Carl) Walker, Akilah "Kee-Kee" Walker both of Neptune and son-in-law David "Munch" James of Asbury Park. Thirteen wonderful grandchildren; Sa'Mir, Samaj, Samara (Rasaja), Haneef, Jamylah, Rafiq, Asir, Idris, Su'Myyah (Ifa), Nasim, (Geneeja), Akisha, Ke'Shawn, Ahdailah, (Kee-Kee) and one very special great-grandson Jaiden, (Ke'Shawn).Two devoted brothers William (Elizabeth) Walker, Joseph (Delonda) Walker both of Asbury Park and two loving sisters Glenda and Deborah Walker of Asbury Park who are collectively known as "Three The Hardway" , her loyal companion-pet Princess and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, beloved friends and unforgettable sister-friend Deidre Rosa.
"Ms. Dar" will be missed dearly.
Viewing will be 2 pm to 3 pm on Friday, January 5, 2018, at Ely Funeral Home, 3316 Hwy 33 Neptune, NJ. Funeral service will begin at 3 pm. Repass service will be held at the Bradley Beach Fire Department, 815 Main Street, Bradley Beach.

Darlene n I went to Bangs Avenue together as kids, she was one of my best friends,I came back from N. Y. to A.P. to see her after over 50 years. n we had a good time, we never kept in touch but I was so happy ti see her n yes she will be missed!
