AGE: 81 • Forked River, NJ
Joseph P. Lake, age 81, of Forked River passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at his home. Joseph was born and raised in Newark and had lived in Forked River for the past 30 years. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary during the Korean Conflict. Joseph worked for Lucien Piccard Arne Watch Company, Carlstadt as a Plant Manager and for L+H Plumbing Supplies, Forked River. He was an active member and Past Exultant Ruler of Lacey Elks, Lodge #2518 and 32 Degree Mason of Harmony Lodge #18, Toms River. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, caring for his antique cars, boating and fishing.
Joseph was predeceased by his son, Christopher Lake. Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Eileen Lake (nee Fernandez), his daughter Diane Bigelow, daughter Theresa Fields and her husband Rick, son Joseph Lake Jr. and his wife Andrea, daughter Cindy McLaughlin and her husband Joe, daughter Nancy Rocco and her husband Victor, daughter Jo Ann Lowther, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and his sister, Eileen Brown.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 3-5 pm and Monday from 9:30-10:30 am at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Rt. 9, Forked River, NJ 08731. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Rd., Arlington, NJ 07031. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Lake's memory to the Lacey Elks, Lodge #2518, 900 Beach Blvd., Forked River, NJ 08731.
