Kenneth Friberg Obituary
AGE: 46 • Little Silver
Native Staten Islander Kenneth C. Friberg, 46, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at his home in Little Silver. Born in Great Kills, he lived there for 30 years before moving to Little Silver about 15 years ago. He graduated from St. Joseph by-the Sea High School in 1983, and received his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Maryland. He later worked in construction. Mr. Friberg was a devoted son and his family said he "had a huge heart and had many friends." He had been caring for his mother since the unexpected death of his father, Robert Friberg, in 2010. He loved to travel and always looked forward to planning his next trip.
Surviving are his mother, Barbara; two brothers, Robert and Keith; and a sister, Nancy Coartney, as well as a niece, Allyson and nephew, Wesley; and sister-in-law, Denise.
Visiting for Kenneth will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., Eltingville. The funeral mass will be held at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 in St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
