Michael "Mickey" F. Coughlin

Hazlet - Michael (Mickey) F. Coughlin, 90, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully at Bayside Manor, Keansburg surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Mickey was born on May 21, 1927, in Bayonne, where he grew up. He moved to Hazlet, in 1958 where he raised his family. He was a proud World War II Army Veteran. He was employed by Getty Oil Company, and was a tanker driver for 40 years. After retirement he was a bus driver for the Academy Bus Company, and also a driver for Hazlet and Middletown Board of Education. Mickey was very involved with the HYAL and coached basketball and little league baseball. He also loved and played softball as a soft ball fast pitcher until the age of 65.

He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Rebecca (Ellis) Coughlin, his beloved wife, Margaret "Peggy" (Brennan) Coughlin, his loving son, Daniel Coughlin, along with six brothers and sisters, his brother-in-law, and his son-in-law, Lawrence Bonner. Michael is survived by his loving children, Sue Coughlin-Van Dunk and her husband Donald of Cameron, N.C., Michele Bonner of Hazlet, Paul Coughlin and his wife, Eileen of Hazlet, and Lisa Balletta and her husband, Martin of Aberdeen. He is also survived by his dear brother-in-law, Dick Hover, his sisters-in-laws, Ramona Coughlin and Lois Brennan. Mickey was also a cherished grandfather of, Linda Richardson, Michael Coughlin, Robert Bonner, Nikki Coughlin, Sean Bonner, Paul Coughlin, Erin Coughlin, Mia Balletta and Kayla Balletta, along with his adored great grandchildren, Kenneth Foster, Michael Richardson, June Coughlin, Amani Marie Coughlin and L.J. Bonner. Michael will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Monday morning, January 15, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, 07730.
