William M. "Chip" Munck

William M. "Chip" Munck, 86, of South Amboy, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in South Amboy, he lived there all of his life. Before retiring in 1985 he was employed by Ironworkers Local 373, Perth Amboy for many years. He was a member of St.Lawrence R.C. Church, Laurence Harbor. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he participated in the amphibious landing of Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan.

Son of the late Harold and Catherine Munck, he was also predeceased by his son baby Michael, a grandson, Christopher Michael and his brothers, Harold and Robert Munck. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eleanor Cohan Munck; his sons and daughters-in-law, William and Tammy Munck and their children, Michael Patrick, Ryan Matthew and Catherine Elizabeth of Hatfield, Pennsylvania, Michael and Leigh Munck and their daughter, Lauren Emily of Aberdeen, David Patrick and Rhina Munck and their children, Jeremy Patrick, Benjamin William and Sergio Escoto of Jackson; their daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and Thomas Ufferfilge and their children, Johnny, Jessie and Kevin of Highland Lakes.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 25, 2012 at 8:15am from The Gundrum Service "Home For Funerals," 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by a 9am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Church, Laurence Harbor. Interment will follow at New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm.
