Family-Placed Death Notice

TAYLOR, Carolyn Carolyn Joyce Martin Taylor Carolyn Joyce Martin Taylor, age 71, of Crawfordville, GA died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the University Hospital in Augusta, GA. She was born on June 20, 1938 in Shumut, Alabama to Allen Zackery Martin and Jessie G. Bryan Martin. She attended school in DeKalb County, GA. In 1955 she married Arthur Wayne Taylor. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband in his business as a bookkeeper. In 1979 she went to work for Rockdale Board of Education. In 1985 she and Wayne moved to Crawfordville, where she worked in banking. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Margarets Grove Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School Superintendent since 1999. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Taylor of Crawfordville, GA; and children, Pam Humphreys and husband Billy of Eatonton, GA, Kenny Taylor and wife Kathy of Washington, GA and Felton Taylor of Crawfordville, GA; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one niece; one great niece; other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Allen Zackery and Jessie G. Bryan Martin; and her brother, Charles L. Martin. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Margarets Grove Baptist Church, 1791 Margarets Grove Road, Crawfordville, GA 30631 with Rev. Tommy Hammond officiating. Interment will follow at Crawfordville Baptist Church Cemetery, 142 Memorial Drive, Crawfordville, GA 30631. Serving as pallbearers are Jason Parker, Barry Parks, Stan Taylor, Herbert Rhodes, Cydnie Taylor and Paul Dorsey. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. Thursday night at Callaway Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Margarets Grove Baptist Church, c/o Dorothy Rhodes, 2703 Bethany Church Rd., SW, Crawfordville, GA 30631. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
