1971 - 2018

BEVINGTON, Charles Andrew Charles Andrew Bevington died unexpectedly on July 5, 2018 in Round Rock, Texas, a suburb of Austin, due to a heart condition. Born on March 7, 1971 in Atlanta, he was the son of Paula Lawton Bevington and the late E. Milton Bevington. Charles attended The Westminster Schools from pre-first through high school - a Westminster "Alpha Omega", graduating in 1989. He earned his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Georgia, majoring in political science. After UGA, Charles joined Servidyne, an energy engineering company founded by his father, remaining there for over a decade. He continued to work in energy conservation and building efficiency optimization in subsequent jobs. He was in the Green Building space before that term existed. Miranda "Randi" Tumlin, a Westminster classmate, and Charles, casual acquaintances in school days, became friends, then sweethearts some twenty-plus years later. They married on October 11, 2014 at Big Canoe, Georgia. Over forty Westminster alumni attended the celebration. Their professional lives took the couple to the Austin area. Charles was a dog loverhe and Randi owned twoand a "DAWG" lover, enthusiastic about all things connected to UGA. Once while overseas, he persuaded a hotel clerk to locate the UGA football game on their satellite network at three in the morning. Also politically savvy, Charles often debated public policy with family and friends, enjoying stumping them with his command of the facts. In addition to his wife, Randi, Charles is survived by his mother; his step grandmother, Nadine Lawton; his siblings Milton (Nancy), Rickey (Robin), George (Kathleen), Mary-Laurence, Christian (Tracy) and Justin (Tracy); Randi's family--her parents, Terri and John S. Tumlin, her two siblings Lyn Pierce and John R. Tumlin along with their spouses and children; numerous nephews and nieces, a grandnephew and two grandnieces. He was pre-deceased by his father and his brother Peter. A gathering to thank God for Charles' life will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 21, at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church. Friends may wish to send a gift in memory of Charles to Moja Tu, an organization that funds education for children in Kenya or to the American Heart Association.
