Family-Placed Death Notice
Mr. Clarence Edward Armstrong, age 78, of Douglasville, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2005. He was born May 15, 1927 in Birmingham, AL, son of the late Sidney and Perna Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his former wife Betty Armstrong. Mr. Armstrong was a self-employed truck driver for over 50 years and a member of Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Armstrong, Douglasville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Libby Armstrong, Winston, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Shelia Gibby, Winston, GA; Deloris and Rick Myers, Milner, GA; grandchildren, Greg Gibby, Winston, GA; Laura Morrison, Douglasville, GA; Matthew Armstrong, Villa Rica, GA; Elizabeth Shirley, Carrollton, GA; six great grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Gallreth, Birmingham, AL; Billie Jo Gowens, Birmingham, AL; Joyce Roe, Bessemer, AL; Joan Bearden, Douglasville, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 and Thursday, May 19, 2005 from 6:00-8:00PM. The funeral service will be Friday, May 20, 2005 at 11:00AM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Rev. Tom Kaplan, officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehaven Cemetery.
