Family-Placed Death Notice

Mr. Clifford Wallace Mares, age 94, of Covington, GA died Sunday, November 16, 2003. Mr. Mares retired in 1980 after 18 years of employment with Hix Green Buick. He was a member of Rainbow Park Baptist Church, Decatur, GA, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Mares is survived by wife, Mrs. Nancy Johnson Mares, Covington, GA; sons and daughter in-law, Mr. Steven T. Mares, Covington, GA; Mark A. and Kari Mares, Smyrna, GA; brothers, Mr. George Mares, Las Vegas, NV; Mr. Reynold Mares, Denver, CO; Mr. Eloy Mares, San Francisco, CA; Mr. David Mares, Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Mrs. May Garcia, Denver, CO; Mrs. Beatrice Donaldson, Anaheim, CA; several grandchildren. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home, Covington, GA. Rev. John Pearrell will officiate. Interment, Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington, GA. Wheeler Funeral Home, Covington, GA.

It was with a real sense of loss that I read about the death of Cliff. I values his friendship for many years.

Cliff was a wonderful father and husband. He was also a good neighbor. He will be missed by many.He has a wonderful family who adored him.

I was sorry to hear about Cliff's passing. I am his step-granddaughter, he was married to my grandmother (Thelma Vaughn). Cliff was part of our lives for many years and after my grandmother's death we did't see him anymore. It's looks as though he has lived a long life and full of family.
