Remembering his special smile and the times we four spent together in Rabun County--planting and harvesting grapes, dinners, drinking wine, and Don's spectacular 80th birthday card and party! (Of course, Carl knew him from Piedmont Hospital.) Thinking of Mary and the family.

Mary and family: We just read of Don's passing in the Clayton Tribune and send our sympathy. He was one of our favorite people, he always had a smile and a supply of jokes. He was a true friend.

Mary,
For the past 9 months, it has been my privilege to watch your love and commitment to Dr. Hubbard as you gently displayed your patience and kindness. I will miss speaking to you at lunch time. You were a great role model to all of us that watched you every day sitting by his side. You have certInly taught me more about the importance of patience and daily presence in your loved ones life. I will miss seeing you and we pray that God will give you comfort in the days ahead. May your days be filled with peace and we pray that many wonderful memories bring you much joy and happiness. We join you in the celebration of Docs life and know that his life and profession has touched the lives of so many.

Dr. Hubbard was my OBGYN for many, many years. Although his associate delivered both my children in 1965 and 1967, Dr Hubbard was with me until I was put to sleep. I LOVED Dr Hubbard so much. When I received the letter that he was retiring, I wrote him a letter. Don't remember everything I said but I do remember saying, "How can you do this to me"? May he rest with the angels now. Susan Barr Okelley. I was his patient but I considered him my friend as well.
