Sara Bleich Obituary

Family-Placed Death Notice

Sara Beatrice Bleich passed away Friday, October 22 after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Bleich was a kind and gentle person who always took an interest in other people. She was loved by all who knew her, and brought particular joy to children and the elderly. Mrs. Bleich was born in Providence, RI in 1910. As a teen in the Bronx, NY, she worked in retail to contribute funds to her parents and younger siblings. After marrying Isadore Bleich in 1931, the couple moved to Atlanta, GA., and then to Washington, DC where they raised three sons. Mrs. Bleich valued education, and each of her sons became a physician. For many years, Mrs. Bleich volunteered repairing books for several Atlanta educational and religious organizations, and visiting the elderly. She was a member of Congregation Beth Jacob. Mrs. Bleich was a loving wife to her husband who died in 1985. She is survived by sons, Howard Bleich, M.D. and his wife Susan, of Newton Center, MA; Allan Bleich, M.D. and his wife Sheila, and Jack B. Bleich, M.D. of Atlanta; brother, Fred Strozer of Santa Monica, CA; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Crest Lawn Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, October 25 with Rabbi Ilan Feldman officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Jacob. Arrangements by Dressler's Jewish Funeral Care, 3734 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd. 770-451-4999.
