Robert Davis Obituary

Robert Norris Davis
12/6/1937 - 3/20/2014

Robert "Bobby", as many people knew him, passed away peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer, with his family by his side. Robert grew up locally and spent three years in the Air Force from 1955 to 1958. He joined the Placer County Sheriffs Dept., in 1959 as a reservist. He went on to hold ranks of deputy, detective, lieutenant, and retired in 1985 as a inspector. He worked for the Colfax Police Dept., for five years. Robert was awarded many commendations and awards during his career including the PCSO Medal of Honor. His passion was helping abused children and he was instrumental in forming the first Placer County Child Abuse Council. Robert was a master mason with Eureka Lodge # 16 of Auburn. Robert lived for the joy of his family and friends brought him every day.
Robert is pre-deceased by his parents Bill and Irene Davis and his sister Shirley Marin. He is survived by: his daughters Rhonda Hubbard and Lorrie Toy (Steve), son Robert William Davis (Nancy), grandchildren Danielle Hubbard, Clayton Ottmann, Jason Toy, Leann Hiestand, Robert William Dee Davis, Cody Coleman (Brie), and Cheyenne Doherty, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pre Bobby's wishes there will be no formal services. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. He would have liked any memorial gestures to be donated to either Sutter Auburn Faith Hospice or Kids First of Placer County.

Bobby Davis was the first officer that trained me in Tahoe City. My first day in a patrol car and I was suspose to back him up. I had not idea where he was. He taught me a lot and was there when you needed him. Good by Sir: James and Carol Voyiatzes
