Charles Diamond Obituary

GROVETOWN, Ga. – Retired Sergeant First Class Charles Christopher Diamond, Jr., 74, husband of Jean Diamond, entered into rest on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday September 16, 2012, in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Reverend Oscar Whiteside officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors accorded.
Mr. Diamond was born in California to the late Charles Diamond, Sr. and Dorothy C. Diamond. He was retired from the U.S. Army having served in Korea and Vietnam. During his military career, he was the recipient of numerous military awards including the Silver Service Star, Bronze Star, The Purple Heart Award and a Presidential Unit Citation.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Tuga Pearson and daughter-in-law Marie Williams.
Survivors include his wife Jean Diamond; his children, Mike Williams, Grovetown and Judy Pearson, Appling, Tina Clark (Joey), Thomson, and Tabatha Mallard (Chad), Thomson; one sister, Jennie Gifford, Oregon; grandchildren, Brandon Pearson, Brittany Pearson, Katrina VanWinkle and Taylor Clark; two great-grandchildren Michael and Amber VanWinkle; and a special niece Pam Sloane.
Pallbearers will be members of the military.
If so desired, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association,1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800 Washington, DC 20004
The family would like to thank Dr. Mitchell Berger and his staff as well as Trinity Hospice for their loving care of Mr. Diamond.

I worked with Mr. Charlie at Castleberrys. He was such a sweet man. I worked in the company store and everyday he would come over and get his drinks for the night. I am so heart broken to hear of his passing.. Rest in peace Mr.Charlie you will be missed..
