David Brown Obituary

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. David M. Brown, 68, of North Augusta, SC, husband of forty-six years to Mrs. Patricia Bush Brown, entered into rest on Thursday, December 13th, 2012. Born in Austell, GA and a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of his life, he was a son of the late Forrest J. and Nancy Seabolt Brown. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired from the Georgia National Guard after twenty years of service earning the rank of E-7. He also retired from the United States Postal Service, Augusta, GA, where he was a Letter Carrier after thirty-three years of service. A member of Breezy Hill Baptist Church, he enjoyed volunteering at church and gardening. More than anything however, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Katelyn Shiley, Brandon Shiley, Ryan Shiley, Claire Brown, Madelyn Brown, Brooke Mason, Brandi Walzer, Justin Zalonis, Chris Brown and Abbie Brown. In addition to his wife, parents and grandchildren, family members include his children, Scott Brown, (Heidi) Lexington, SC, Leanne Shiley, (Curtis) NorthAugusta, SC, Angie Ruff, (Dewayne) Cartersville, GA and David Brown, Douglasville, GA and siblings, Forrest Brown, (Cindy) Atlanta, GA and Nancy Stinnett, (Conley) Lexington, NC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, December 16th, 2012, at 3 o clock at Breezy Hill Baptist Church, Graniteville, SC, with Pastor Robert Riley officiating. Interment with Veterans Honors accorded by the United States Navy Honor Guard will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Ed Berry, Sr., Ed Berry, Jr., Michael Berry, John Bush, III, Billy Shoaf and Jon Nichols. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. It has been suggested by the family that memorials, in lieu of flowers be made to the Alzheimer s Foundation. David was a great guy and so dependable at the Guard.He was one of my best supervisors and just overall great person.So sorry to hear a out this..We will keep all in our prayers.
