Just as no man has power over the spirit or can restrain the spirit, so no one has power over the day of death. Just as no one is discharged during a war, so wickedness will not allow those who practice it to escape. All of this I have seen, and I applied my heart to every work that has been done under the sun, during the time that man has dominated man to his harm. (Ecclesiastes 8:8,9). We still send our love and condolence to Justin's family and friends who will always have this needless loss on their hearts and mind.

I knew Justin from a SATCOM class I attended with him and Jesse Orchard back in January 2005. They were sitting next to me and I overheard them talking about names for a guild in World of Warcraft--they wanted something from Monty Python for a guild name, and I helped them out by proposing the name Autonomous Collective. Next thing I knew, they had me hooked on the game and we had many good times playing together. Justin had a great sense of humor and was a very generous person--someone I am glad to call a friend. Justin, you are truly missed.

He has a great reputation and I have heard nothing but good things about him as a Soldier and a person. Please be comforted by the legacy Justin has left behind.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Decrow family. We hope God brings you strength and comfort during this difficult time. I can remember a long time ago (about 20 years) when Dan and I worked on the ambulance in Florida that even back then, he was so proud of Justin. There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't talk about him.

The Love and Prayers continue to to flow throughout the pages of this guest book. Many people personally know Justin, Marikay and Kylah. While others know his mother, Rhonda or his father Dan. His step-father Todd or his brother Cody.
Still, written throughout these pages are the warm thoughts, prayers and appreciation with respect to a fallen solider and his family. They are written by so many whom never even knew Justin or his loved ones.
This tragic event lays so heavy on my heart because I can not do or say anything to make it easier for the family. I will have to pray for acceptance. But, these pages along with my own words also show me that I am not alone.

I met Justin in Korea. He helped me and my team out when we went to his site there. He was funny, helpful, and a great leader. One of my soldiers had him as an instructor at the school house. This has been felt here in Iraq as well and we're sorry for your loss. You are in our hearts.

To Marikay and Kylah, and of course, Danny -- this is Diane in Colorado. When Danny called and told me what happened, I couldn't get my head around it. I only can remember Justin and Marikay at their wedding and those early days together -- so completely in love and devoted. To the family of Staff Sgt. Justin DeCrow: I am so sorry for your loss.I had the Great priveledge of serving with SSG Decrow at Ft.Gordon and the Ceremonial Detachment in 2002-2003. He was the type of soldier that no matter what time you called him or told him that there was a mission/ceremony he was ready, standing tall and looking good. We would sit in the office for hours talking about our family's. He will be missed.

I met Justin and Marikay at Ht. Hood back in 97'. They became like family to me having me out to their house and going out. I remember my truck broke down in their driveway and Justin helped me work on it all week letting me stay there and giving me a ride onto base in the morning. He is one person that I know would do anything for anyone. I will miss you.

I was stationed with Justin from 2003-2007 at Fort Gordon, GA and also in South Korea in 2008. He went out of his way to be nice to everyone he met. Everyone who knew him loved him. He was always quick with a joke and a smile. He was the kind of guy that made going to work fun. He will be GREATLY missed...

I had SSG DeCrow twice as a leader. Once in AIT as an instructor and then again in Korea where he would be my section SGT. He was a good leader but more importantly he was a GREAT PERSON!! I have never met someone so happy. He was just a great person to be around and I know he will be missed greatly. My thought and prayers also go out to his wife daughter and whole family.

I am a Justin's cousin and he will be missed so much. I am told by his mom that i'm the one that gave him his will to play jokes on everyone. Justin you are a Hero and we all are so proud of you & your sacrifices you did for your country. I love you Justin !!!

I served with Justin in Korea. He was always there to brighten the day and make me smile. He was one of the best people I have had the pleasure of knowing and it's hard to believe he's gone. My prayers go out to his family. Thank you SSG DeCrow for being the person you were.....may your soul rest in peace and may you always be the sunshine in all of our pockets.
