Dale Leeland Burleton

Dale Leeland Burleton Dale Leeland Burleton, 86, of Aurora, passed away peacefully July 21, 2009. He was born January 15, 1923 in Oakfield, WI, the son of Perley Joseph and Henrietta Mary (nee Beeble) Burleton. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Jeanne Leidholdt on December 4, 1943 in Oakfield, WI, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church; the same church that his father and grandfather built in 1892 and which in his youth he served as an alter boy. Dale and Jeanne celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year. Dale graduated from Oakfield High School and served in the U.S. Army as a Technical Fifth Grade in the 448th Military Police Service Company in Greenland. After his service, he returned to Oakfield and began to pursue a railroad career and graduated from Telegraph School in Minneapolis, MN. He was assigned to the CB&Q Railroad in Aurora, IL as a train dispatcher. Dale was a member of the Burlington Northern Veterans Club, the Batavia VFW Post #1197, and the Aurora Tiger Club. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his three children, Perley Dale Burleton of Walnut, IL, Judene (Randall) Kremer of Yorkville, IL, and Tomas (Rebecca) Burleton of Indianapolis, IN; and his sister, Marian Ethel Cook of Oakfield, WI. Dale was a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren; and a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Oliver Perley (who died in infancy), George Edward, Merlin Arthur; and is sisters, Helen Nora and Velma Olive. A private family service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Avenue (Route 31 and Main Street) in Batavia, IL. Interment will follow in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia. Rev. Michael Rasicci will officiate. There will be no visitation.
