Rooks Family:

I never had the honor of meeting Claire, however through the honor of spending time with her son Mike, daugther-in-law Caroline and grandson's Joe and Jordan, it is apparent more than ever the amazing woman and influence she was and will continue to be to her family. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you...

Hello Rooks family,

Thank you for sharing this wonderful person with us! Claire was always an inspiration to me (Dean) as a kid, with her never ending humor and a positive outlook on life. She had a grand laugh! I can't remember her without a smile on her face and witty verbs to make us all feel better. Later in life, when Linda and I came to AZ for the wedding with Caroline (a stellar woman), Claire shared advice with us about marital relationships that have helped us get along through 32 years of love. Priceless! Must share a funny - Years ago, when my folks had a cabin on the Oregon coast we invited Claire to come for the weekend. Linda and I arrived early and went out to walk the beach. We put a note on the unlocked door stating "Hi Claire, come on in. Stuart the liver eater is locked upstairs with his food". My parents arrived an hour later to find Claire outside near the street a bit shaken and confused. She was afraid of the encounter that she might have with the unknown mutant beast housed in the upper dwelling. My folks calmed her, explaining that it was just our grey and white neutered cat. We all got together and had a grand laugh and a festive weekend full of great food, more laughter and great fun. It hurts to loose a loved one. In this case however, I'm sure that she is in a place that is nothing less than utopia. Joe and Josh, sorry that I've not met you but I know you're good guys. Please stay close to your Mom and Dad through this hard time because I know they love you more than the world it self and they need you. Claire carved her way to Heaven and there she will rest with Joe and Bob.

Please be celebrating the legacy.

GRANDMA!!!
Its something unpredictable but in the end is right i hope you had the time of your life! Thank you for all the lessons that you taught me. From locking the doors, turning off the stove, DONT OVER COOK THE ZITI, that amazing sauce that i still cant prefect like you can, and to "NEVER HAVE REGRETS FOR MY PAST HAS MADE ME WHO I AM". you were the best grandma and godmother in the world. You raised my dad the right way which intern he raised me the right way. I will do my best to live your legend but you accomplished enough for 3 people! FA SHIZZELL lol that always made me and jordan laugh! i love you so much grandma. I will never forget you and your passing made me realize all the small things that i complain and fight aboout really dont meen a thing. Faith, Family, and friends is what its all about.
By the way, i was having a really hard time with you passing and i started cleaning. i found the little prayer book which was really a dollar store picture album that you gave me and i still have all the prayer cards that we got at church! and all the note cards with prayers on them that you helped me rite! also i still have the FAMILY BIBLE that you gave me.
any way, REST IN PARADISE grandma. i mss you sooo much and love you sooo much more.

Joe
