Clement Edwards Obituary

Clement H. Edwards, 74, of Glendale went home to the Lord, Saturday, February 11th after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Clement Sr.; also by the mother of his 9 children, Joan (Bonnie) Schliefer Edwards; 1 son, David; and sister, Delores Caprio in 2002. He leaves behind his wife, Linda L. Edwards, of Glendale, and 8 children, Bonnie and Tom Lynch of New Jersey; Steven of Chandler; Cheryl and Roland Phillips of Mesa; Lisa Edwards of New Jersey; Darren and MarySue of Delaware; Tara and Dan Douthitt of Glendale; Kelly and Dave Smith of Surprise and Shawn and Carol of Chandler. Also surviving are 4 step-children, Shellie and Denny West of Glendale; David Myers of Mansfield, Ohio; Laurie and Frank Cuccia of Prescott, Arizona and Ronnie and Lina First of Queen Creek, Arizona. He has 15 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren & 2 step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Edwards of Sieverville, Tennessee; 2 sisters, Vivian Sutton of Sieverville and Loretta and Art Preuester of New Jersey; a brother, Robert of Port Charlotte, Florida. Clem was born to Clement H. and Mary Edwards, December 30th, 1931 in Nutley, New Jersey. He served in 2 Armed Services and received the Soldier's Medal from Senator John McCain. Mr. Edward's was active in the Catholic Church and the VFW for years. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. There will be no calling hours and his wish to be Interred at The National Veteran Cemetery will be carried out on February 18th with a Veteran Memorial Service. Clem will be missed by those who loved and respected him and remembered always as a very good man.
