Ray Ervin Chaudoin, 79, of Phoenix, Arizona went to be with our Lord on March 3, 2006. He was born August 12, 1926 in Alma, Oklahoma and was raised in and around Wellington, Texas, where he met, married and is survived by Odell Chaudoin, his wife of 59 years. He leaves behind three sons, Dick Chaudoin, and his wife Becky, Jimmy Chaudoin, and his wife Nancy, and Danny Chaudoin. Ray and Odell have 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Zealous and Jewel Chaudoin of Oklahoma, his sisters, Lois Berry of Odessa, Texas and Shirley Gardner of Brownsville, Texas. Ray has one surviving sister, Lola Hix of LeFors, Texas. Ray moved his family to Phoenix in 1948, where he began a new career in construction. And in 1951 he was accepted as a union apprentice bricklayer at Local #3. He was awarded Grand Champion Bricklayer in 1952. He was the "Ray" of Cal-Ray Masonry in the late 1950's and through the 1960's. Ray retired after 41 years of doing what he loved. He also loved family, all of them. His smile and laughter will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery, 401 N. Dear Odell and family:

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Just know that Ray is with Charlie, Tim and J.R. and I'm sure they are all telling tales and getting heaven ready for the rest of us. At least we know the pillars to the pearly gates are being maintained by the "best bricklayers" around.

I'm sorry Lorraine couldn't be there with you all today but she does send her love to each of you.

Dear Odell and family,

We are so sad to hear of your loss. Ray is our loss, too. We enjoyed his ready laugh and sweet nature. We know that you will be comforted by the knowledge that our loving heavenly father is with all of you and will give you strength and comfort in the days ahead. If we can be there for you, in any way, please don't hesitate to call on us. Lovingly,

Ed and Faith
