Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 601 E. California Ave., Wednesday, May 8, at 9:00 a.m. for Anastacio (Tacho) Ortiz Gonzalez, 79, who passed away May 6, 2002. Father James Catalano will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd.
Mr. Gonzalez was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Socorro Gonzalez and son, Emilio Gonzalez. He is survived by his special family: son, Alfonso and wife, Gloria Gonzalez and son, John and wife, Nora Gonzalez; daughter, Rose Broida and husband, Greg Broida; grandchildren, Emilio Jr., Chris, Lisa, Christina, Isabel, Vivian, John Jr., Elisha, Jesse, Breeann, Michael, Jonathan, Rosa and Lupe; great grandchildren, Dominque, Cheyenne, Anisa, Nikolas, Emilio, Frank, Vieanna, Jackie, Tia, Brean and Frank III. Special family friends, Maria Soto, Javier Soto, Laura McKinney, and Rocio Soto; 13 brothers and sisters.
Anastacio had a love of family, a passion for cooking, gardening and enjoyed music. He was an extremely spiritual man. He had a close connection to God and his Catholic faith. He became a U.S. citizen in 1998, a long-life wish.
Casketbearers will be Alfonso Gonzalez, John Gonzalez, Jesse Reyes, Emilio Gonzalez Jr., Greg Broida and Javier Soto. Honorary casketbearer will be John Gonzalez Jr., PFC, USMC.
