Charles was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 5th after a short battle against cancer. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI. He and Eleanore were married in 1950 and moved to California with their family in 1957. In 1960 he and Frank Piper started Omega Construction, being known as an excellent contractor. He and Ellie enjoyed many years in the mountains of northern California and recently moved to Arroyo Grande.
Pops as he was affectionately known will be remembered as a loving husband to Ellie, faithful father to Nancy DeVries, Chris and Marlene Clanton and Mark and Caroleen DeVries; caring grandfather to his 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He also had 4 dearly loved brothers, their families and many lifelong friends.
His family invites you to join them for a celebration of Chucks life on Saturday, December 11th at 2:00 p.m., to be held at Hodels.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chucks memory to Hospice Partners, 277 South Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
