Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., for Glen Dale Roe who was born on January 22, 1934, to Claude and Ethel Roe.
Glen grew up in Mulberry, Arkansas, and later moved to Lamont, CA, where he graduated from Arvin High School in 1952. He served overseas in the Navy from 1953-1957. Glen returned to Lamont and married Ruby Bradshaw. They became the parents of Debra in 1962 and Pamela in 1965.
Glen went to work for Ohio Oil in 1957, (later known as Marathon Oil), and retired in 1989. The years at Marathon Oil were full of great memories and lasting friendship.
In 1989, he began a new life. He rededicated his life ot Christ, retired and became a grandpa. He loved spending time with granddaughters, Shelby and Jena.
Thank you to St. Vincents Heart transplant team. We counted each day after Glens heart transplant in 1997 as a gift from God. A special thank you to Dr. Peter McCauley for your compassion and a thank you to the wonderful and caring staff at Oakdale Heights Memory Care and thank you to Hoffmann Hospice for providing wonderful care and support.
Glen is survived by wife, Ruby; daughter, Pam Payne and husband, Spencer Payne; granddaughters, Shelby and Jena Lynch; sisters, Alma Jean and Geneva; brothers, Leroy all of Mulberry, Arkansas, Claude of Weed, CA and Bobby of Bakersfield; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Ethel Roe; sisters, Anna Lee and Agnes; brother, Kenneth and daughter, Debbie Lynch.
Glen went home on December 11, 2003. Our PaPa will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in his name to Hoffmann Hospice.
Visitation begins Wednesday, December 17, 9:00 a.m. 9:00 p.m.
