Jackie Milliken Obituary

JACKIE MAE BELLE MILLIKEN

March 6, 1944 March 4, 2023

Bakersfield Jackie Mae Belle Milliken was born March 6, 1944, in a boxcar in Delano, CA. She was called to Heaven on March 4, 2023, at her home.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Loranzo and Winifred Hembree, her beloved husband Chester Allen Milliken, 5 siblings: Joe, Beverly, Jim, Lon, and Johnson, and her nephew/godson Jason Evans.

Jackie is survived by her cherished daughter Meghan Milliken, 4 loving grandchildren, whom she doted upon: Jacquelyn, Jasmine, Chester, and Cannan all of Bakersfield, and her brothers: Richard Hembree of AZ, David Hembree of ME, sister Deana Cruise of AZ, and her stepson Gary Johnson of AR, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Jackie was a lifelong resident of Bakersfield and was the first woman in Kern County to obtain a Forklift license. She was a hard worker that devoted her life to others, always willing to put others' needs before her own. She loved and cared for all those who surrounded her. Jackie will always be loved and deeply missed. Heaven has indeed collected a beautiful angel.

I´ll remember Jackie for her down to earth approach to all things, the warrior attitude she used to defeat the cancer that had the audacity to invade her body. She never lost one minute of work during her illness.
But most of all I´ll remember the way she walked through her life with dignity, grace and a great big heart.
