Bob
Services: Sat., Sept. 21, 11 a.m.
Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. for Taft resident Robert Bob Clary, 71. Pastor Robert Johnson and Steve Salyers will officiate at the service.
Bob was born in Los Angeles on March 23, 1931 and passed away in a Bakersfield hospital on September 18, 2002. During the Korean Conflict Bob proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. After his discharge from the Marine Corps he settled in Taft and began working for Chevron. He had been employed as a gas engine mechanic and retired after 35 years of service to Chevron. Bob and his wife, Jackie, enjoyed traveling around the United States in their motorhome. If there was ever a marriage that reflected sacrificial love it was theirs. Wherever Bob and Jackie were, you would rarely see one without the other.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Evelyn Clary. His survivors include his wife of 34 years, Jackie Clary of Taft; his daughters, Kathy Salyers and husband, Steve, Karen Korsgaard, Connie Korsgaard all of Bakersfield; and Kathy Adams of Cypress; his sons and their wives, Robert Mike and Mary Clary and Mark Clary of Corpus Christi, Texas, Steve and Cyndi Korsgaard of Austin, Texas and Patrick and Natalia Clary of Bakersfield; his grandchildren, Chris, Courtney, Ally, Tyler, Erika, Jestin and Danielle and his great-grandchild, Jordan Tooter.
Friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and again on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
