Ronald Moe Obituary

Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Moe July 8, 1947 - June 15, 2012 Ronnie was comforted by his family and siblings at his bedside as he passed following a brief illness. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife and friend of 29 years, Rebecca "Becky" Moe and his children Richard, Broc and Jessica Moe and four Grandchildren Richie, Ryan, Minerva and Rossi Moe. He was born July 8th, 1947 in Bakersfield to Margaret "Gretch" Moe and Oscar P. Moe who preceded him in death and is survived by three Brothers; Stan, David and Charlie Moe and two Sisters; Juliann Moe and Janice Mabry. He has always been a fun loving Uncle Ronnie to his 11 nieces and nephews and extended families totaling more than 20 who will all miss his larger than life laugh and bear hugs. He was a graduate of South High School and a true embodiment of the Rebel mascot. He played high school baseball, but it was playing, coaching and managing local Open league Softball teams for more than 25 years, including helping to bring the ISC World tournament to Bakersfield that brings so many great memories and stories forward. Ronnie lived for every day and lit up the room, softball diamond, family gathering or roping arena - anywhere he was, with his gregarious passion for family and friends. He loved working outdoors and barbequing all while trading barbs with those around. Ron loved helping others and was a member of the Elks Club for more than 25 years. If you asked him his profession, he would tell you he fixed broken hearts for a living. Ron was a Cardiac Lab technician with Mercy and later Memorial hospitals assisting with lifesaving heart procedures for more than 40 years before retiring in 2011. There will be a private family Memorial Service on Friday, June 22. Friends and family are invited to gather for a Celebration of Ronnie's Life and friendships beginning at 2 PM Friday, June 22 at Noble Park (operated by the Shrine Club) 700 South P street, Bakersfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the 2013 CBCC Relay For Life team. CBCC is located at 6501 Truxtun Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93309. www.bakersfield.com/obits

This is a hard one.

Ron was such a big part of my life when we were all young and invincible. I have a thousand good memories of Ron and I am thinking of them now as I have been for the past few days. One of the aspects of Ron that I always admired was that as big a man as he was he was also the most gentle.

We had some fun.

God Bless you Ron.

My sympathies to everyone who is feeling this loss. Becky, Richie, David, Sharon, Stan and everyone who came in contact with him.

I knew Ronnie in high school and on occasion ran into him through the years. We lived in the same apartment complex on Belle Terrace in 1968. He also xrayed my daughters arm (twice) when her elbow was injured. She was 2or3. Ronnie was always very nice to me when we were in school and always considered him a friend. I was very saden by his death. I pray for his family during this difficult time. May God bless and keep you through your time of sorrow.

Ronnie and Becky were part of the most important day of our lives, our wedding when they opened their home and beautiful backyard to our family and friends. There was never a time when you ran into Ronnie, no matter how many years had passed that he didn't greet you with a huge hug and that great smile. You will be missed. Mickey and Megan Brockman

I wish I could be there on Friday, but unfortunately we'll be out of town. I'm sure Ronnie's celebration of life will be well attended. He touched the lives, hearts and wallets of many (I lost more money to him in poker games years ago than I care to remember...) All of the Moe family will be in our hearts and prayers on Friday, and a special prayer goes out to Travis & Janis.

GOING TO MISS RON'S VISITS. EVEN THOUGH HE RETIRED WE STILL TALK ABOUT HIM AND LOOKED FORWARD TO HIM STOPPING BY. HE WAS FAMILY TO MOST OF US AROUND HERE IN THE CATHLAB. I APPRECIATED THE TIME I GOT TO SPEND WITH HIM OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS. SPENT MORE TIME WITH HIM THAN I DID MY OWN FAMILY WHEN WE WERE ON CALL A LOT OF TIMES!
