Anne Bieretz Obituary

Anne Cromwell Bieretz died peacefully in her sleep on June 26, 2023. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 8, 1933, the daughter of the late Michael Jenkins Cromwell and Maria McEvoy Cromwell. Anne is survived by her dear brother, M. Jenkins Cromwell, Jr. (Mary), fourteen nieces and nephews and more in the following generations. Anne is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ernest C. Bieretz, brother P. McEvoy Cromwell, and sisters Maria C. Williams and Kitty F. Cromwell.

A devout Catholic, Anne was a very gentle and humble woman with a sincere attitude of gratitude. A graduate in Practical Nursing from The University of Maryland, Anne worked as an elderly companion for many years, and upon retirement she frequently helped others in her apartment building with errands. She had a childlike appreciation for the great beauty in ALL of nature, and whomever she was with was inevitably the recipient of her delight in them.

A Memorial Mass will be held on July 15, 2023, at The Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier 13717 Cuba Rd. Cockeysville, MD 21030 at 11:30AM. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family will appreciate memorial contributions to Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish www.ihmchurchmd.org

Anne was married to my grandfather after my grandmother passed. Living half way across the country, I only met her two or three times, but she was always checking up on our family through my mother. She was a very caring person and I'm sure is missed by all who knew her well.
