George Gene Betz

BETZ , George Gene George Gene Betz, 77, of Salisbury died, Saturday, June 30, 2012 at his home. Born on June 10, 1935 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late George and Mary Betz. He was a proud lifetime member of Eastside Men's Club as well as a former officer and a member of FOE in Salisbury. He was a devoted Baltimore Orioles fan. George loved to fish and he admired the watermen and historic watercraft of the Chesapeake Bay. He is survived by his children, Carol Jean Lidard of Baltimore, George F. Betz of Annapolis, Cindi Trout of Millersville, John Betz of Reno, NV, Robert Betz of Baltimore, Benjamin Betz of Pittsville and Christopher Betz of Salisbury; grandchildren, Brian Betz, Becca Betz, Jasmine Felton-Betz, Lincoln Marshall, Harrison Betz, Cecilia Betz, James Long; a brother, Donald G. Betz and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia Rosewag Betz, a first wife and mother of five of his children, Catherine Parr; brothers, Richard Betz, David Betz and Thomas P. Betz.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 between the hours of 2 and 4 PM at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
