Martha Haas

Martha Vera Haas, originally of Highlandtown, Baltimore, MD, a 49-year resident of Joppatowne, MD, and most recently of Bel Air, MD, passed away on August 5, 2022 at the age of 93.

Martha graduated from Patterson High School in 1946. Her varied career included general and legal secretary, substitute teacher, soloist singer, rental agent, office manager and development assistant.

She was actively involved in the community as a Girl Scout troop leader, church choir member and director, women's sorority president, PTA officer, and community theater actor and singer. An avid reader, Martha also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling. She was the consummate hostess who loved to entertain and host gatherings for family and friends. Above all, she cherished her role as devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, and steadfast friend to many.

Martha was predeceased by her beloved and devoted husband of 66 years Martin Haas, sisters Freida Smith and Ellen Kellner, brothers Henry Kellner and Edward Kellner, and her parents, Sadie and Albert Kellner.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Nadine Haas Wellington, her son, Jeffrey Haas, her son-in-law, Charles Wellington, and her grandson, Spencer Wellington.

Visitation will be held under the caring guidance of the family owned and operated McComas Funeral Home, Bel Air, Maryland on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 5-8 pm. Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 10 am. Interment will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
