Mr Bob, Oh how you will be missed. The twinkle in your eye when you made someone smile and the sheer joy you showed to have your children and friends around you. I wish I had the chance to know you and Ms Peggy longer. Thinking you often - may heaven always have sprinkles for your ice cream

How can i have so many memories in such a short time? Because Bob made me feel like i knew him for a lifetime. I couldn't leave without having a spoonful real maple syrup, always asking my permission to smoke a cigar (Peggy, you know i couldn't say no), playing the harmonica, and oh the stories. i loved the stories. He cried everytime he told the hankerchief story....he will always have a special place in my heart. I have been changed for the better by knowing him. A life well lived....a life well loved. Deborah

Dear Suse, Juliete, Rob and Scotty,
Your Dad was a wonderful person to be with and talk with. I never saw him without a smile and a warm greeting. Ellen and I loved Bob a lot and I regret that I didn't take him up on his offer to take a ride on one of his boats.
Love from LN (Ellen) and me....John Baker

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the Stegmans. Although Bob has been a friend of my parents for years, Tom and I got to know him later while he was married to Peggy. My image of Stegi will always be as he peered through his glasses - wild and colorful and on the tip of his nose - with a great big smile on his face. We will miss him.

I am so grateful to Bob for being such a positive, supportive, good friend to my dad and that i got to know him and his family. Growing up with them and the farm was some of the best times of my life. Thank you for that and opening your hearts to me again and inviting me to that awesome party and the visits with Bob. I am truly honored and blessed. He will be missed by many. My heart goes out to Robbie, Susan, Scotty, Juliet, Peggy, and their families.

I first remember Bob and my father corralling all the kids for hay jumping at the annual Stegi farm party...I imagine the two of them are together again - now standing on the great ship's bridge in the sky!

My heart goes out to all of you Stegmans. Bob and Bebe were very close friends of my parents and we had many memorable times out at their house. My prayers are with you all.

Although I only met Mr. Stegman a few times, I always loved his sparkling eyes. He joins a large, large group of wonderful people in heaven (say hi to my parents). My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I will miss my Uncle Bob. My first memories are being his tennis ballboy when I was 5 and he was 22, single, and drove a chevy convertible. What a guy! He used to call me "Chipper".

Captain Stegman will remain in my heart always. A man of love and peace who held all those around him in the best light. A gentleman I feel honored to have known. My many cherished memories stretch from being a young girl sitting at the dinner table as he toasted his Bebe far into adulthood with his fun visits to Seattle and my visits back to Monkton. Juliet, Suse, Rob and Scotty my thoughts are with you. Much love.

Oh my goodness, what memories Bob brings to my mind. He and Bebe were two years behind me at Friends School so we go back over 68 years. Then our kids and Bob & Bebe's kids grew up together in Monkton.Bob belonged to our poker group and occasionally was my partner in the St. James tennis tournaments. Many a cold one was shared in the big kitchen of their country home.Bob was a wonderful friend and a wonderful man.I shall miss him but I will have precious memories because of him. My sympathy goes out to Robbie, Susan, Scott, Juliet and Peggy. I will hold them in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
