Savannah Vernarelli Obituary

VERNARELLI , Savannah G. Savannah G. "Penny" Vernarelli, died August 15 at age 85. A longtime Hamilton resident, she was a major in the Army Nurse Corps who served her country in World War Two and Korea. Her husband, Lt. Col. Arnold F. Vernarelli, died in 1995. Mrs. Vernarelli is survived by her brother, James H. Swaim of Moneta, Va.; sons Stephen Vernarelli of Sedona, Az. and Mark Vernarelli of Baldwin, Md., and daughter Susan DePasquale of Holiday, Fla. Also survived by dear daughters-in-law Jennifer Vernarelli and Catherine Vernarelli, and dear son-in-law James DePasquale; seven beautiful granddaughters; and great-granddaughter Zoe. Other survivors include dear sisters-in-law Ella Reinsfelder, Edith Ireland, Mary Toutloff, Jane Vernarelli, Jean Reinhardt and Betty Swaim; dear brother-in-law John Vernarelli, and many nieces and nephews. We thank God for this gentle and kind woman who is now at peace with the Lord.
Memorial service Saturday, August 19 at 11 a.m. at Parkville Baptist Church, Taylor and Moyer Aves. Future interment at Arlington National Cemetery.
